December 2025: The lab gathers to celebrate all of the accomplishments over the semester and send the students off for finals and the holiday break, sharing treats, memories, and laughter.

November 2025: Dr. Meegan is nominated for a Trailblazer Award, celebrating first-generation students, faculty, and staff who make a meaningful impact through leadership, service, and perseverance, and receives an Honorable Mention.

October 2025: The lab hosts two PhD rotation students, Katie & Stefan.
October 2025: Dr. Meegan presents a poster and chairs a scientific session at Vascular Biology, the annual meeting of the North American Vascular Biology Organization and the Microcirculatory Society, in Cape Cod, MA.
October 2025: Two more undergraduate students, Anna and Ashley, join the lab.
September 2025: Dr. Meegan presents an invited talk to the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of South Alabama Student Chapter.
August 2025: The first undergraduate student, Raquel, joins the lab.
June 2025: Dr. Meegan presents an invited State-of-the-Art talk at the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis Congress in Washington, D.C.

May 2025: Dr. Meegan presents a poster and serves on a career development panel at the American Thoracic Society International Conference in San Francisco, CA.
April 2025: Dr. Meegan gives an invited talk in the Microcirculatory Society President’s Symposium and presents a poster at the American Physiology Summit in Baltimore, MD.
April 2025: First manuscript published from the lab!
This work was started during Dr. Meegan’s Postdoctoral Fellowship and was completed after her transition to faculty.

February 2025: Dr. Meegan and colleagues, through support from the Center for Lung Biology at the University of South Alabama, host inaugural Research Symposium on Pulmonary Injury and Repair of the Endothelium (ReSPIRE) at the Grand Hotel Resort and Spa in Point Clear, AL.
Vivian presents her first poster.
Dr. Meegan gives an oral presentation and serves on a career development panel.

January 2025: Automated fluorescence microscope installed, enabling the lab to perform high-throughput imaging in fixed and live cells.

December 2024: First experiments!

October 2024: Dr. Meegan represents the Department of Physiology & Cell Biology at USA Health Game Night.
